Mechanical Assembly Internship Summer 2026

Tendeg LLC is a premier spacecraft deployables company. Our novel designs are enabling exciting missions providing high gain antennas for sensor applications and communications. We have 12 antennas on-orbit and 20 flight deliverables occurring in 2025. Our missions include Earth Science (weather, surface deformation and change); LEO, GEO and lunar communications; synthetic aperture radar (SAR); and unique radio frequency sensors for commercial and government applications. Title: Mechanical Assembly Internship Summer 2026

Pay Range: $27.00 Hourly (Rates to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data)

Tendeg is seeking a motivated Mechanical Assembly Intern to support the engineering and production teams by learning and assisting with the assembly, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical components and tooling. This role provides hands-on experience in precision assembly, quality verification, and documentation processes for both support equipment and specialized hardware.

Position Details:

  • 3-months paid internship
  • 40 hours per week
  • No relocation assistance

Location: Louisville, CO

What you'll do:

  • Read, understand, and execute work instructions to assemble mechanical components and document procedures.

  • Utilize high-precision measurement tools for creating and inspecting components.

  • Assemble and verify tooling and hardware, including delicate or fine-detail parts, according to engineering specifications.

  • Perform quality inspections to ensure assemblies meet company and engineering standards.

  • Collaborate with engineers and production staff to suggest improvements and minor design changes.

  • Maintain detailed build records, including work instructions, non-conformance reports, and time logs.

  • Identify non-conforming parts and escalate issues as appropriate.

  • Cross-train in multiple assembly areas as needed.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications/Education:

  • 0-5 years of applicable experience.
  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Structural Engineering, or another related field.
  • Desired Experience:

  • Experience with light mechanical assembly.

  • Aerospace-related education or experience is a plus.

  • Technical writing skills preferred.

  • Interest in or exposure to fast paced multidisciplinary engineering challenges.
  • Good communication skills (oral, written, and presentation).
