Tendeg LLC is a premier spacecraft deployables company. Our novel designs are enabling exciting missions providing high gain antennas for sensor applications and communications. We have 12 antennas on-orbit and 20 flight deliverables occurring in 2025. Our missions include Earth Science (weather, surface deformation and change); LEO, GEO and lunar communications; synthetic aperture radar (SAR); and unique radio frequency sensors for commercial and government applications. We have apertures from 50cm to 10m, VHF to Q/V-band, and precise 2-axis gimbals. Consider joining our innovative and rapidly growing team.

Tendeg’s Philosophy

We encourage innovation and entrepreneurial energy. We are successful because we take a unique approach to solving problems. We look for creative thinkers and self-motivated people that can collaborate within our open team environment. TENDEG is an acronym for TENacious Design and Engineering Group. Obviously, tenacity is another trait we embrace.

Title: Structural Analyst Engineering Internship Summer 2026

Pay Range: $27.00 Hourly (Rates to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data)

Tendeg is seeking a motivated Structural Analysis Intern to support the development of deployable structures for space satellite applications. This role offers exposure to a cross-disciplinary engineering environment where mechanical, RF, and thermal disciplines intersect to meet mission-critical requirements. As an analysis intern, you’ll work closely with structural and mechanical engineers to perform modeling, analysis, and testing tasks that validate the mechanical performance of deployable mechanisms during launch and on-orbit conditions.

What You’ll Gain:

· Real-world experience supporting the development of flight hardware for satellites in a fast-paced, hands-on learning environment that values innovation, collaboration, and ownership.

· Exposure to the full lifecycle of deployable antenna systems from design and analysis to test and integration.

· Mentorship from experienced engineers across multiple engineering disciplines.

Position Details:

  • 3-months paid internship
  • 40 hours per week
  • No relocation assistance

Location: Louisville, CO

What you'll do:

  • Learn detailed stress analysis on complex moving mechanical structures. Analysis techniques will range from quick turnaround hand calculations and concept FEMs to detailed FEA nonlinear contact and multi-body dynamic deployment models.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, RF, and thermal engineers to evaluate structural vs. performance interactions such as structural dynamics, pointing requirements, RF surface accuracy under on-orbit thermal gradients, and deployment mechanics during various environments.
  • Aid in the refinement of lightweight structural concepts like composite materials and additive manufacturing for mission performance and manufacturability.
  • Simulate structural response in launch and on-orbit environments.
  • Observe and participate in hardware testing including vibration, static load/deflection, and deployment of mechanisms.
  • Document analysis and test results in reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Contribute to preliminary and critical design reviews of space hardware.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications/Education:

  • 0-5 years of applicable experience.
  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Structural Engineering, or another related field.
  • Foundational skills of structural statics, mechanics, dynamics, materials (metal and composite), free body diagrams, closed form equations, and finite element methods.
  • Knowledge of kinematic motion, joints, mechanical advantage, rotating/sliding surfaces, friction, contact, and torque.
  • Interest in or exposure to fast paced multidisciplinary engineering challenges.
  • Self-motivated learner able to follow tutorials and examples of analysis methods and finite element modeling.
  • Good communication skills (oral, written, and presentation).

Benefits: As we are growing and investing in our company, we invest in our team. We recognize employee contributions through competitive salaries and bonuses and take pride in taking care of our employees. Here is how we show our appreciation:
